My friend Katie from Chestnut Mocha blog posted six things and tagged me! Here are my replies to the questions she asked.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I am not an adventurous eater, that’s for sure. Maybe the most daring I have been was those Orbitz drinks in the 1990’s! The other thing I can think of is avocado and chocolate dessert, or avocado gelato. I know, that is really not anything too out there. Raoul has had durian fruit at a hotel in China, and he also had crickets in chocolate chip cookies.
What did you want to be when you grew up and why?
I have always wanted to have a cartoon in the newspaper, and now I do with my weekly comic strip, Tofu Baby. I always knew I wanted to involve art and craft in my life, and running Shoppe Sugar Cookie fills me with such great joy that I am happy to have it in my life. Making things makes me happy, and in turn I am glad that it makes others feel happy, too. Raoul and I plan to open Mini Gallery, thus making art the center of our lives.
What is your comfort food?
My comfort food is mashed potatoes. I love love love mashed potatoes. My mom makes them for us when they visit or when we visit home. Raoul makes some very good mashed potatoes, too. Then the next day you can make yummy potato pancakes with the leftovers!
What has been the most influential book you’ve read?
One of my all time favorite books is The Giver by Lois Lowry. What an interesting story about a world without fear, pain, and unpredictability. The main character Jonas learns the truth about the society he lives in when he takes all the feeling, color, and memories that nobody else has.
What habit are you trying to break or create?
I am trying to get more organized. I have to admit, I am messy. I love projects, and I love having all my materials surround me. This gets to be a problem when there are some UFOs around – UFOs are “unfinished objects!” ha! I get caught up in the shipping of my Etsy goodies, that sometimes my craft room gets a little rough!
